Skynet is after Kyle Reece,father of John connor, he is their primary target.

Skynet capures Kyle Reece, and identifies him as Kyle Reece, John Connor's father.

Instead of killing Reece, ensuring victory, as John Connor cannot exist, Skynet uses Reece as bait, to lure Connor in to a trap.

Why?

and even IF skynet wanted to kill Connor, to make doubly sure of its success, why not put a bomb in Reece's Cell, not a T-800, which, as proven by the first film, and, by the logic Connor is not dead/non-existant, CAN be killed by humans.
