Before the Thunder Road race, Rizzo runs into Sandy outside of school just before Rizzo sings her song. Sandy's hair is first flipped up, then in her close-up it's flipped under, then at Thunder Road it's flipped up again. Maybe it was a really windy day!

There's also the inconsistency of Sandy's hair length that's always bugged me. Shorter on the first day of school, then long ponytail at the pep

rally, then shorter again at the sleepover! The drive-in scene looks like a long fake ponytail too. I used to try to rationalize her different hair lengths by thinking, well, the story does take place over a school year and of course her hair could be different lengths throughout. BUT--I can't ignore the fact that the pep rally and sleepover scenes take place on the SAME night! Oh well, I guess for the pep rally she could have been wearing a fall or wig, people probably used to wear them a lot in the 50's.
