Twilight - You're Not in England, Edward!

In the scene where the class goes on a field trip to a greenhouse, Edward is talking to Bella. He starts to say, "I'm sorry for..." then starts his sentence over again "I'm sorry for being rude...". If you listen, the first time he says it, it's with a British accent, and the second time it sounds normal. Because the actor who play Edward is actually from England, he must of accendentally slipped into his normal accent!

Brittany writes:: Personally, I think the accent improves his character. Ever noticed in historical movies, even ones set in America, how actors sometimes talk in faux British accents? Edward is supposed to be from the early 1900s, so he still has some of the same speech patterns and some outdated expressions. So while it may not be "accurate" if they're trying to portray him as a born-and-raised American, I don't think Summit was too opposed to his occasional slips -- in cinema, it's common and often intentional.; 15 of 6576 found this helpful.
