In the beginning of Apocalypto, Jaguar Paw's father, Flint Sky gets murdered when the Village gets attacked.

Much later on in the movie, Jaguar Paw and the others are painted blue and are being marched through the city sqaure.

It cuts to a scene where the prisoners are looking around them and taking in their new surroundings. The next scene shows a man in the foreground and a man in the background. The man in the background is cutting up meat. The man in the background is Flint Sky - who died days before in a village miles away.
