Does high school football season take place after Christmas? Nowhere in the U.S. that I know of, not even the playoffs! In the movie, Christmas scenes in the mall are shown before Ridgmont High plays Lincoln in a rival football game. So, the way it's portrayed in the film, this game would have to have taken place sometime in January or beyond, after the kids have returned from Christmas break...high school football season is in the FALL.
