At the end of the movie, when the castle takes off into space, you can actually see that it is a cardboard cut-out placed in front, and look through the fog and the castle is still there underneath.

They couldn't exactly get on their laptops with Windows XP and an Internet access card and fashion it to actually be a clip of the castle flying off into space.
