At the end of the movie, John Wayne is stopped on a remote beach. The bad cop, Clu Gulager, pulls up and tries to turn his car around to get away. The Duke shoots his tires out and the rear window explodes. Clu gets out of his car and hides behind the rear driver side window. A gunfight breaks out and you can see that Clu fires two shots into his still intact window and nothing happens. Then he remembers he was supposed to raise his gun over the top of the car and fire the blanks.
