After the first flag raising, there are some shots of Marines celebrating. Then there is a shot of some LST(ships) on the beach. LST number 523 is already beached and right next to it is LST number 571, which is just landing on the beach. A few more shots of Marines and then another shot of LST 523, while in the background way off shore is LST 571 coming in to land again.

In reference to the above slip-up, I can explain... LST 523 is a ghost ship. It actually sunk 8 months earlier off the coast of France after being struck by a mine. Incidentally, it was scheduled to relocate to the Pacific after the Normandy invasion had it survived. (my Dad was on board that ship)
