In the opening, a convoy of Marine jeeps and trucks drives onto a beach to check out the space ship. There are several shots of the vehicles stopped on the beach. Next there is a shot from up on the cliff that shows all of the vehicles, and a huge crane has suddenly appeared on the beach.
