After Superman is trapped by a thrown bus, the citizens of Metropolis decide to attack the 3 villains. Zod and his companions use their super breath to blow the Earth people away. During one shot from behind Zod, we can see that the "wind" they are blowing is coming from both sides of the super villains and not from their mouths.
