John Wayne is leading his troops into enemy territory. One of his men is scouting ahead and gets ambushed and killed by Viet Cong. When the Duke comes upon his dead sergeant, he picks up his M-16 and examines it for the camera. It is not an Army issue M-16 like the other soldiers are carrying. It's obviously a kids's plastic rifle from Toys 'R Us. The Duke smashes the fake rifle against a tree and it disintegrates. Just before he breaks it, look at the tape holding the rifle stock together. It must have taken a few takes to get the shot right because the prop man had to repair the rifle.
