In the film "Atonement," there is a scene where Robbie, played by James McAcavoy, is walking through an orchard. Exhausted and hungry he reaches up and picks a large juicy red-green apple. He takes a big bite or two as you would except that the evacuation of Dunkirk takes place in mid-June and apples that time of year are about the size of grapes and totally inedible. It'd be interesting to know whether that was in the book, which would be an even bigger gaff. Townies eh!
