Sweeney Todd - Something Not Very Nice...
Just after Mrs Lovett has offered Sweeney the 'Worst Pies in London' she answers Sweeney's questions about the room upstairs. She tells him that some say it is haunted and that "something happened up there. Something not very nice...".
She tells the story, but the nasty thing that happened occurred at the Judge's house not above her shop. When seeing a live production of Sondheim's masterpiece, the abstract nature of stage doesn't cause the same problem.

This isn't a slip-up seeing as how this is exactly how it was written. Even if you go back and say the original is a slip-up it still isn't. The "somthing not very nice" revolves around "the barber and his wife" therefore would be associated with their home. Which is the space above the pie shop
