When the Andy breaks out through the hole in the wall, how is it that the movie poster is flat on the wall the next day when his cell is searched? In fact, the poster is so smooth that the warden can throw a rock through it only to discover the escape route! Go ahead and try stick something flat against the wall through a hole in the wall--bet ya' can't do it.
My nephew solved this for an extra credit project for his high school drama class. He taped (Gum also works) two flat half dollar sized rocks (Of which Andy was very fond) to the lower inside corners. He then taped a Britney Spears poster to a piece of plywood with a similar sized hole cut in it. He lifted it, crawled through, and the poster dropped right back to form. And yes, it was taught enough that the drama teacher was able to throw a rock right through it a la Warden Norton!
