In the movie, the Germans are fighting the Russians. Three quarters of the way through the movie the Germans are retreating, and the Russians send over squadrons of planes to bomb them. The planes are without a doubt f4u corsairs which are American and were never given to the Russians. What makes it a major slip up is that the corsairs have gulled wings and it is very obvious they are not Russian planes, you can almost make out the American insignias.
