As Scotty and Kirk are approaching to dock with the Enterprise in their service pod, the scene changes to a shot from the pod's perspective, docking with the Enterprise. There are two windows to either side of the Enterprise's docking port, with the camera right window featuring a Starfleet technician onboard the ship, and the camera left window showing an empty room.

As the service pod approaches the Enterprise, the image in the camera left window suddenly jumps down a few millimetres, as though the image behind the window was re- or misaligned.

The slip-up is fairly inconsequential, but is surprising that this was not corrected in the re-issued Director's Edition.
