At 39min and 50 sec, Zack Ward's character "First Sergeant Donnelly" gets attacked by Scorponot and gets dragged in the sand and obviously gets killed.

After the whole fight sequence is over and they're heading back to the states flying over the Atlantic in the cargo plane at 1hr 6min 45sec, Zack Ward's character is spotted in the scene on the right and when Scorponot's tail comes back to life, he helps put it down.
