As you watch the beginning of the movie, the Dragonfly hits the windshield of the van. As the guy is trying to clean the bug off with the wipers, he's stopped at the checkpoint. He turns the van off, and the windshield wipers stop straight up and down (90 degrees with the ground). The camera then changes from the inside the van view to the outside the van view. If you look at the windshield (through the drivers door) you'll see the wipers are nowhere to be seen.
