In the scene where Gabriella and Troy are singing "Gotta Go My Own Way," at the beginning of the song she is wearing the necklace. When they go into the second verse and she is by her locker, she is no longer wearing the necklace. You can tell she didn't take it off because she was using both hands to get her stuff out of the locker.
