American History X - Thats a Lot of Bullets
Well, i am not sure what the characters names are but this one is at the beginning of the movie. The older of the two brothers runs out of his house to shoot some gangsters, he is using a gun that should only carry 15 rounds, yet he fires about (he fires at one guy 6 times then at another 11 times i think) either way its way too many shots from that gun (17).

Hahaha, it's funny, because this comment has already been made but with different amounts of bullets. Something like 26 shots out of an 18 shot magazine.

Also, you can buy extended clips for many handguns. Like most 15 shot Berettas

he is using a 9mm gun, also its the Glock 17 addition, which can hold up to 19 bullets, and with one in the chamber 20. . . so if he did shoot off seventeen. . . then he should have around two or three bullets left

He's right Glock's and some others have 20 to 17 rnds.. My friend had a 20rnd mag for his beretta 911. It hangs way out the bottom but it works. :) Legion_2k

Actually Derek's gun is not a Glock 18. Glock 18's are fully automatic pistols, unlike most other SEMI auto-matic pistols. It has been a while since I've watched the movie otherwise I'd tell you what kind of gun it actually is ;)

Okay, guys, I would have thought one of you who are all discussing the virtues of the various Glocks would have realized that it's not a Glock at all in the movie. Sorry, but for those who want to argue, check out the external hammer when he's coming down the stairs, then let me know which Glocks have that.

The gun Derek uses is by far not a Glock. Glocks are square by the muzzle, and this one is rounded. Also, later in the movie, when he is about to curb the thug for trying to steal his car, the top of the gun appears to be shiny. The slide, and the handle, actually pretty much the whole gun, is made from polymer. It is also textured, to prevent glare. This gun definately has a metal slide on it, and also appears to be brushed, not blued, as you can see the contrast with the grips. With the external hammer, (Glocks use an internal hammer system), I would guess it's either a Smith and Wesson, or Sig Sauer.

Okay, let me clear this up....The gun the "Derek" was using appears to be a Ruger P-85, not a Glock, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer or anything else. It is able to hold 15 9mm rounds, if he had the .40 S&W or .45ACP model, the magazine capacity would have been reduced. If he were to have the 7.65 Parabellum 'convertible' model the mag capacity would be increased, but where he would get the 7.65mm ammo from is beyond me.
