Friends - Where Ross and Carol still together for a year after she came out?!

In the one with the flashback, Rachel says that it is one year until her wedding, however at the same time Ross discovers that Carol is a lesbian and says that his marriage is over. Yet in the the pilot (apparently one year on from when he finds out) Ross impliess he has only found out.

When Phoebe and Ross almost hooks up, and Chandler and Rachel had that thing in the bar (before it was the coffee shop). I agree the timing is a little off on this. However I can't remember if in the pilot episode Ross says Carol had just moved out or the divorce was final? Because if he was just saying that the divorce was final then that could be right because divorces take a long time to be finalized. But I'm pretty sure you are right that this is a slip-up...because I dont think they would be together for a year after he figured it out!!; 15 of 6576 found this helpful. Did you?

Duckay writes:: This is a bit of an iffy one... it is true that in the flashback to a year before the pilot in season three, Ross finds out that Carol is a lesbian. However, what Monica says about Ross in the pilot is that "Carol just moved her stuff out", which could mean that there was an awkward bridging period of a year in which Carol and Ross still lived in the same house/apartment, but (presumably) in separate beds, which would be weird, but not impossible. However (again), in the next episode, Carol is pregnant with Ben, and though it's not certain how far along she is, it is obvious that she and Ross must have slept together since a year ago. BUT! In a later episode, this is addressed: Ross says that he and Carol had a lot of good times together before she came out of the closet and "once after". So this, at least, explains how Ben was conceived, though it still doesn't explain what happened with Carol after she came out (unless she moved out right away and then, for whatever reason, decided to try things again with Ross and move back IN, only to move out again just before the Pilot).; 15 of 6576 found this helpful.
