In the final battle when the machine-gunner in the tower with Jackson yells "I'm out of .30 calibre!" he clearly has a "disintegrating link" machine gun belt which the Army did not yet have for the Browning .30 cals. The .50 cal. machine guns did use them, however the .30's still had the cloth belt.
