In King Vidor's "The Fountainhead" (1949) a woman strikes Gary Cooper across the face with a riding crop so hard that he appears to have a very bad cut, lots of blood. In the next scene he has no wound or scar of any sort. Miraculous! (This film is unintentionally hilarious, by the way.)
