Towards the end of the movie, where Julia Roberts appeared at Richard Gere's apartment, they are standing on his terrace. As she is telling him all the things wrong with her, he says something like "Should I add these to the lists?" and for a second, you see a frame where he is holding up a piece of paper, obviously appearing out of nowhere, because it's never seen again.
I was wondering that too, and I was thinking maybe it was a script, but you do see it one more time. He's holding the box of shoes when you can see the paper underneath it. Then it disappears next time you look.
Ok...where exactly was that? When she goes to his apartment, he says, "Should I be writing this down?" and he doesn't have a piece of paper. Maybe you should watch it again.
