Towards the beginning of the movie, Priest Vallon recites the "Prayer to Saint Michael" to his son. This is impossible, seeing that the Prayer was written in the 1880's by Pope Leo XIII. Since the movie is set in the American Civil War (1860s) the prayer had not been written yet.
