When the guys go down to the basement after the fratellis leave, they walk toward the fireplace, and as the water from the cooler drains below the log grate you see the glowing embers of the fire logs. Brand even moves the logs to see the grate.

After the guys go into the tunnel, Brand slides the logs back and Ta-Da, no glowing embers.
