Mr. Deeds - I Took Math in Public School
Near the end of the movie, at the stockholder's meeting, Chuck Cedar states that he controls 49 percent of the company, or 300 million shares. Then, he goes on to say that he also controls 5 million shares as proxy for foreign investors, and asks how he should vote his 51 percent. But hold on! That would mean that 5 million shares was 2 percent, and if 300 million is 49 percent, then 2 percent would be about 1/24 that, or 12.5 million shares, not a measly 5 million shares. Guess math was never Chuck's strong point!
