In the scene where Nightcrawler teleports out to grab Rogue after she is sucked out of the Jet(When the missile hits the X Jet), He teleports to grab her, then teleports back in, yet he never looks where he is going. But later in the movie, he tells Storm that he has to be able to see where he is gonna teleport to.
Nightcrawler tells Storm he has to see where he is going before he teleports so that he does not end up in a wall or something. When he teleported outside of the plane there was nothing there for him to get stuck in, only air.
