In the scene where Kurt Russell and his daughter slide across on the fire hose, take a look after they are helped on the other side. The fire hose is gone, even though it was securely tied to the railing.
if you notice where they are standing they are to the left of the hose. dylan is standing in front of it. when they jumped off emmmy rossum went and hugged her hubby and kurt russel was taken a breather. when it cuts back to dylan the hose is still hanging there.
