Watch Toy Story until the scene after Buzz and Woody had a fight and Andy went away. When the truck is coming, notice the wheel patern: 1 wheel, 2 wheels, 2 wheels. But when the wheel almost crushes Woody, the camera goes to the side, 2 wheels! Splat! 8O
On all tractor trailers the front wheel is aligned with the outside rear wheel. If you'll notice Woody ends up almost getting crushed by the inside rear tire not the outside. So the shot before we see Woody almost getting crushed is actually a shot from Woody's point of view as the front tire gets dangerously close to his head.So the scene is correct in him not getting crushed by the front wheel.
No, he's right. Watch the scene again carefully. When the truck is stopped and the camera angle shifts.. it shifts back such that Woody's head is at the middle of the outer tire, and his body is near the inner tire. (Which it wasn't before, his head was near the inner tire). The truck drove basically straight in. That's just a position blooper though, as he wasn't in danger of being crushed until he was shifted to a different position.
