King Kong takes place in the 20's or 30's right?

At the end of the movie, as Adrian Brody is talking to the girl on top of the Empire State Building (right after Kong dies) - just seconds before the scene ends, while the camera is on Brody, a lazer pointer can be seen going from the top of his nose around his forhead. It's gotta be clearly seen with slow motion, but just watching it at normal speed you can see somethings odd.
