In the beginning when Austin becomes a synchronized swimmer, the girls around him change in numbers. It starts off with 10 swimmers, then changes to eleven and then back to ten. At the closing of the scene when the people rush in from both sides, there is only eight girls...
It looks like only 8 girls if you don't have the widescreen VHS or DVD. The shot is so wide that when they edit it "to fit your screen" on a VHS, they literally cutt-off the sides of the frame. ie: in widescreen you see: 12345678. When they cut it, you only see: 345.
