When Jack Sparrow is on the Black Pearl, trying to make a deal with Barbosa, he is picking apples out of a bowl. Eventually, he picks one out, and takes a bite out of it. They continue talking, and go outside, where Barbosa takes the apple and has Jack locked up. Barbosa looks at the apple before throwing it, and you can see that there are four or five bites in it.
