On the episode where Aunt Bea helps open up a chinese restaurant, watch when they are open their first night. Andy, Helen, Goober, etc. are all at the table ordering. At one point Andy says something to Goober, but calls him George. Since George is Goober's real name, this was a very obvious mistake that somehow made it past the "editors".
its obvious goober is a nickname......maybe george was his real name?

I recently saw this epsisode (June 2007),and this slip-up doesn't exsist. Andy asks to Goober; "Do you want order Goober?" There is no "George" uttered. However, Andy did slur "Do you" and it sounded like DOOSHUUD want to order Goober? Maybe the viewer thought that was "George", but it's a stretch at the least.

Theres no slip up: I watched this scene 3 or 4 times. Andy never called him George. Although I did notice one slip-up, well maybe a slip-up. Notice the door to the restaurant, when Aunt Bee first enters, the door is glass and wood.(2:18) but later on the door is different and solid wood.(maybe they done this on purpose for new restaurant.)

Andy never calls him "George" or "Goober", he calls him "Goob" twice.
