I think you will find you are mistaken. The footage is taken at the VLA in New Mexico. The dishes are arranged on a large Y track that runs for miles. The dishes appear to have moved because of the perspective change between the two character shots.
Aside from this, these types of telescopes are not affected by daylight, and do change position very regularly during the course of a day.
