During the portion where Dr/Mr Ryan has gambled on whether Ramius' Crazy Ivan will be to port or starboard, the Captain of the US sub has been talking to Jonesy over the phone ... however, when he asks which way he went, we very clearly (e.g., no 'telephone' effect on his voice) say "To the starboard" as though he were standing right off camera.
