When watching the movie, notice how they light the 225 (or so) year old torches instantly. This is about 3/4 through the movie right before discovering the treasure.
Granted, but wouldn't you be a little cheesed off if the '1000 year old torches' didn't light, leading to the characters giving up on discovering the treasure, because they don't have any light? Give the plot a little leway. The films awesome, don't be so picky!
How did these torches get to be 1000 years old? This takes place under Trinity Church in Manhattan, NY. This country was founded only about 230 years ago. The torches can't be much more than 230 years old---However, the main premise is correct. How is a 230 year old torch still going to be flammable???--Some one please correct me if I am wrong.
