Mary and Dean are telling each other secrets under the water. After Dean tells his secret they are swimming back to the surface and Mary hits her head on the ladder and falls down into the water. As the Carpenter jumps in to save her he is clearly wearing his shoes, after he has grabbed her and is swimming up it shows his feet and he is wearing no shoes.
