Jurassic Park - Bon Voyage!
At the end of the movie, the survivors board the helicopter and fly off into the sunset. Where the heck are they going? Guam? At the beginning of the movie it states that the island of Ilsa Nubar is 120 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. That means it's in the Pacific Ocean. Shouldn't they be heading back east, towards the mainland?

This is a pretty big slipup, but I think I know why they did that. Anything, including helicopters, look more dramatic at the end of a film if they are going off into the sunset than if they are going in the opposite direction.

Every action film needs to end in a sunset, c'mon, its for the 'its all over' atmosphere. I agree, it is a slip up, not a big one, just a normal slip up, but would you rather they traveled facing dark clouds (facing the hurricane that already passed over the island), that wouldn't work with the closing piano song, wouldn't you agree?

It could be 120 miles EAST of Costa Rica. That would put it in the Caribbean. I don't think it is, because I think elsewhere it says it's southwest of CR, but I'm not sure about that.

Did you ever think that they may be stopping off somewhere else? Maybe an oil thingy or something like that.
