During the helicopter attack scene when one helicopter lands on the vietnamese school yard, and the girl runs up and throws her hat (and grenande) into it, watch the helicopter explode and collapse. You can clearly see the white pipe scaffolding they used to support the helicopter and pulled out from under it to simulate collapse. During the next ground level scene, you can see mangled white pipe around the flaming helicpter.
