This takes place in Chapter 13, White Goodman Comes A'Courtin, and is fairly obvious. While White is bombing at his attempt to date Kate, Peter shows up at her porch. Looking behind him, you see his convertible Pontiac parked by the curb just to the right of the picket fence gate.

Later, White summons Me'schell by snapping his fingers and gets on the back of a scooter. They ride off, straight through the spot previously occupied by Peter's car! He is still on the porch with Kate and never left. No explanation for this one!
