In one of the episodes with the new nurse (Judy i belive) (the episode with Johnny Chow) at the near end of the show the camera shows a camera shot of monk in a coffin after he has been dug up. In the shot his left hand is almost completly covered in candle wax. In the next frame, one closer to Monk, it shows the candle looking new, and no Wax on his hands.
