Mr. Mertle claims to have played baseball with Babe Ruth. The only problem with that is that Mr.Mertle is black and blacks were not allowed to play in the major leagues during the 1920s (which is when Babe Ruth played). It wasn't until Jackie Robinson broke the barrier in 1947 that African-Americans could enter the major leagues. Babe Ruth had long since retired by then.
