In the scene where Mort finds the manuscript on the table he has started to read page one.

When Mrs. Garvey comes into the kitchen she shoves the manuscript into Mort's chest with page one showing. In the next frame Mort is holding the manuscript in the same position with the title page showing. The action in the scene was so quick that Mort did not have enough time to make the switch in the pages.
