In the scene when we see Evan at the Kalie's funeral he drops the flowers and the note that says I'll come back for you in the hole. If you look at the note you can tell from the previous scene Evan wrote the note on a lined piece of paper, in his notebook. Then when wee see the paper it is piece with no lines.
