This slip-up happens when Kevin is about to cross the zip-line from the attic window to the tree house. Right before he crosses, you can see the handle bars are attached to the rope. When he goes across and crashes through the window, the handle bars are off the rope lying next to him. This can't be possible since the rope is still attached to the tree.
