Signs - Door Is Boarded Up Incorrectly
In the scene where the aliens are attacking the house, Mel Gibson's character nails boards across one of the interior doors in the house. Problem is, the door opens the opposite direction so the boards do not help at all.

I noticed this too. It is clearly visible that the door swings away from the boards he was hammering to the door jam.

It wouldn't make sense to board up either side of that type of door. If you do it as it was done in the movie, the Aliens could have just opened the door and pushed away the boards (if they had that type of strength). On the flip side, if you put them on the outside there are two problems. 1. The Aliens would have access to your first line of defense and 2. How would you get back into your house? Funny, but true.
