In the begining of the movie, the female sheriff is telling Mel's character at one point about how she had to go out to the bike shop because of that infamous spitting incident, you know, the one where the woman was "spittin on all the brand new bikes...SPITTIN!"
Well there is one problem with this. The movie went through all the trouble of making sure they had every detail on her uniform correct, even getting real Bucks County Sheriffs Dept badges and everything but they missed the one big issue: Bucks County Sheriffs do not respond to calls!
Speaking as a police dispatcher for the county, I can assure you that that is not the job of a BC Sheriff. Here, they don't take calls, and their main job is Prisoner transport, PFA and Warrent Service, and Levy's. For a problem with a person in the store they would have called the Doylestown police dept.
Also pay no mind to that other slip-up stating there is only one sheriff in the county and we are run by state police, that person has no idea what they are talking about. Bucks County has about 50 police dept's, as well as State Constables, County Sheriffs and two State Police Barracks. Also the movie was never supposed to be shot in (or resemble) Newtown, it was shot and takes place in Doylestown-the county seat of Bucks
