During the jailbreak scene the actors were supposed to climb the fence and escape, but during the filming the fence fell and landed on some actors. The scene looked very convincing so they left that in the movie. This was a fairly big slip up, but turned out well.
Yup, there is no jailbreak scene in Ben-Hur. Spartacus is the movie where the gladiators scale the fence to escape, and part of it falls over. I think it was planned, because you can see the actors reach the top and shake the fence to break it loose.
