In episode 11, "Mr. Monk and the Red Headed Stranger, Willie Nelson invites Monk to play the clarinet with his band for a live performance. To prepare, Monk practices at Sharona's house while Benji is trying to do his homework. We hear Monk playing the song and the camera cuts to Sharona and Benji at the table with Monk in the background. With the Clarinet playing the entire time we see Monk stop playing, lips entirely off the mouthpiece, no interruption of sound.
